Best holiday makeup essentials for traveling
Packing Clean Makeup Favorites
Traveling is always exciting – it’s all about exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and embracing fresh beginnings! However, packing the right makeup can be a bit of a challenge. We all want to look our best in photos while keeping our luggage light. But when it comes to harmful-chemicals-free makeup, finding the right brands can be even more difficult.
Years ago, there was a significant gap between popular and clean makeup brands: finding something organic that delivered the same results was almost impossible. However, I’ve noticed tremendous growth in the organic beauty industry in recent years. So, these days it’s entirely possible to invest in products that make you look good and feel great on your skin.
Following the success of my previous post on travel beauty essentials, I wanted to share more about my favorite holiday makeup essentials for traveling, while also highlighting the best global brands worth bringing along.

Quick Tips for Travel-Friendly Makeup:
- Find multifunctional products to save space and simplify your routine: BB or CC Creams combine the benefits of foundation, moisturizer, and sunscreen; stick products are easy to apply on the go and can double as lip color, blush, or highlighter.
- Use travel-sized versions of your favorite products to keep up with your makeup routine even on the road: A well-chosen compact eyeshadow palette with versatile shades can create both day and night looks without taking up much space.
- Sunscreen, hydrating mist, and sheet masks are my beauty must-haves while traveling – they help prepare my skin for makeup.
- Properly removing makeup is crucial for maintaining healthy skin on the go: I start with cleansing wipes and then follow up with a good cleanser or cleansing milk with a cloth.
- Use a clear, zip-up bag to find the product you need quickly and easily.

My Favorite Organic and Clean Holiday Makeup Essentials
1. Ogee Travel Essentials
Ogee is a great choice for those who value organic ingredients but have an eye for elegant and sophisticated design. The brand is known for its luxurious and high-performance beauty line crafted from certified organic ingredients. Here are my Ogee favorites for traveling:
- The Ogee Crystal Contour Collection Trio (includes three multipurpose contour sticks that can be used as highlighters, blushes, and bronzers, making it easy to create a full makeup look with minimal products).
- Sculpted Complexion Stick (I use the shade Linden, which has a lovely velvet finish that works perfectly on my combination skin).
- Ogee Blender Brush + Precision Brush + Brush Cleanser (I use the blender brush with all the sticks and the precision brush on dark spots).
- Brightening Botanical Eye Balm (I love using this before applying concealer, as it provides great brightening benefits and improves the appearance of dark circles).
- Beyond Clean Volumizing Mascara (The best mascara with organic ingredients I have ever tried).
My blog readers can benefit from 15% off their first Ogee order on the official website of the brand via this link.

2. Evolve Favorites for Traveling
Evolve Organic Beauty is a skincare brand from the UK, dedicated to creating effective and eco-friendly products (handcrafted in small batches in their eco-studio). The brand’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its use of recyclable packaging, ethical sourcing, and cruelty-free practices.
When it comes to beauty essentials, Evolve offers a wide range of travel-sized products. Here are my current favorites:
- Hyaluronic Eye Complex (It has a rollerball technology to refresh and hydrate: I use it on flights or before applying the concealer.)
- Bio-Retinol Glossy Lip Oil (My favorite pick for glossy, visibly plump lips.)
- Travel-sized cleansers (I love that Evolve offers a wide range of travel-friendly skincare products.)
The brand is also available on Amazon.com here.
3. Freshly Makeup from Spain
Freshly is one of my current favorites here in Spain. The brand is known for its innovative and eco-conscious approach to skincare. Freshly creates products that are natural, vegan, and cruelty-free.
When it comes to great makeup for traveling, Freshly has a lot to offer. Here are my current favorites:
- Mineral Eyeshadow Palette ( It combines matte and shimmer finish shades to create looks for both day and night.)
- Perfect Volumising Eyebrow Gel (I use Medium shade.)
- Radiant Glow Primer Serum
Since Spain has been my home for more than 15 years, I often get asked about cool Spanish beauty brands. If that’s your case, check out COCUNAT, Corazona, and Ami lyok.

4. MADARA Products on the go
MADARA Organic Skincare is a Latvian beauty brand that blends the power of Northern nature with scientific innovation to create eco-friendly skincare. I love that every product from this brand is formulated with certified organic ingredients.
My current favorites from MADARA are:
- MADARA Luminous Perfecting Concealer (I use Vanilla color.)
- MADARA Brightening AHA Peel Mask (I use it before makeup to give my skin an extra glow on special occasions.)
- MADARA CC Cream ( This product has a very light coverage, so I usually follow it up with the mineral powder.)

5. Pai for glowing on the road
Pai Skincare is a British brand dedicated to creating organic, cruelty-free skincare for sensitive and delicate skin. My two absolute must-haves here are:
- The Impossible Glow Organic Hyaluronic Acid + Sea Kelp Glow Drops (I mix it with CC Cream for an extra glow.)
- Organic Rosehip BioRegenerate Universal Facial Oil ( I use it to regenerate and hydrate right after removing the makeup.)

6. Lily Lolo Powders
Lily Lolo is another British beauty brand known for its mineral-based powders. These offer buildable coverage while allowing your skin to breathe. My current favorites from Lily Lolo are:
- Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation ( I use a Warm Peach shade)
- Lily Lolo Pressed Blush – Coming Up Roses ( I prefer the stick blush, but since this one is so small I often have it inside my purse.)

7. Burt´s Bees / before&after makeup
Burt’s Bees is an iconic American brand celebrated for its commitment to clean, earth-friendly personal care products. The company uses simple, effective ingredients like beeswax, honey, and botanical oils to create products that nourish and protect the skin.
Burt’s Bees lip care products and face wipes are some of my favorite holiday makeup essentials. Here are my top picks:
- Burt’s Bees Conditioning Lip Scrub & Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment (I love this duo to get lips primed & ready for a lipstick application.)
- Burt’s Bees Nourishing Eyeliner (I do not use eyeliner daily; sometimes I apply this powder with Pink Bambu Brush.)
- Burt’s Bees Rose Water Face Wipes (while Cucumber & Mint Face Wipes are on the list of my hiking essentials)
More Clean Brands:
Holiday makeup essentials should be multifunctional and compact, but I love using organic products on my skin above all. You can find more of my favorite brands in this post about travel beauty essentials (like Dr.Haushka, 100% Pure, and Weleda).
By choosing the right products and packing smartly, you can maintain your beauty routine with minimal hassle: whether you’re exploring a new city or lounging on a beach, you’ll be ready to look your best with ease!

I hadn’t heard of many of these makeup brands, but I’m going to check out the Ogee Blush Stick; it looks lovely!
Thank you for this list of brands! I haven’t heard of many of them but have some research to do before my next trip.
What a great list! I haven’t heard of many of these, but will look into this more before our next longer trip.
I must admit that I don’t wear makeup hardly at all when home. But I do travel with makeup for special events. I always look for clean products and where possible combination things to reduce how much I need to pack. Interesting to read about all the different products offered by Burt’s Bees!
As a non-make up person, I try to keep a clean tidy face so the clean make up is interesting. I have actually used mineral makeup but not irregularly. I looked at some of the brands I liked the look of and am very happy they are cruelty-free, so I might try the mineral make up again.
this is definitely written for me! i am MEDIOCRE at packing toiletries and makeup and always overpack (much to my own chagrin) , but i think your trip on multifunctional products is definitely at least gonna alleviate some of that crazy weight in my luggage for starts
