Natural and Organic Skincare to Buy in Europe: French and Spanish Brands I Love

Tips for Buying Natural Skincare Products in Europe

As someone who has lived in Spain for more than 15 years and travels frequently across Europe, one of my favorite things to discover is local skincare products made with natural ingredients that nourish the skin and transform an everyday beauty routine into a self-care ritual. While some people return home with magnets or postcards, I usually come back with a new face cream, botanical perfume, or natural beauty product tucked away in my suitcase.

This post is not sponsored. Everything mentioned here is based on my personal experience and honest opinion. Most of these products were purchased with my own money, while a few were gifted through collaborations on my Instagram account, @at_lifestyle_crossroads. However, those partnerships have nothing to do with this article, which I created exclusively for my readers based on products I genuinely use and love.

I simply believe that some products are too good not to share, especially since my website reaches readers from around the world who may not be familiar with French and Spanish skincare brands or the incredible variety of natural European cosmetics available today.

In my twenties, I could easily be influenced by IG videos promoting “the best beauty products from Mercadona.” Now, in my thirties, I am much more conscious of what I apply to my skin. Especially since many eco-certified brands are now available at prices comparable to mass-market alternatives, maintaining a more natural skincare routine no longer feels like a luxury.

For the past five years, I have tried to keep my skincare routine as clean, eco-conscious, and mindful as possible, while supporting brands that prioritize high-quality natural ingredients and sustainable practices.

Although I enjoy discovering new beauty brands across Europe, I have noticed that organic French and Spanish skincare products work particularly well for my skin, which is why they now make up the majority of my travel beauty essentials.

So, if you’re visiting Europe and looking for natural skincare brands to discover while you’re here, I hope this guide helps.

Pro tip: Lately, I always double-check ingredient lists using tools like ChatGPT or Google Gemini by simply taking a photo of the packaging and asking whether the product contains any potentially concerning ingredients. That said, eco-certifications in Europe are generally quite strict and provide a helpful starting point when choosing more natural cosmetics. However, it’s still worth reading the labels, as even within the same brand, some products may have cleaner formulations than others.

Lisamar

Lisamar has recently become one of my favorite Spanish skincare brands. Based in Barcelona, the brand embraces a holistic approach to beauty, transforming everyday skincare into a self-care ritual.

In addition to skincare products, Lisamar also offers sets with candles and teas designed to complement a mindful beauty routine. I absolutely love this philosophy, as I believe skincare should be about slowing down and taking care of yourself, not just applying products as quickly as possible.

You can get 25% off their products on the Spanish website, lisamar.es, with code Anna25.

Freshly Cosmetics

Freshly is probably one of the most internationally recognized Spanish natural skincare brands. Their products are formulated with naturally derived ingredients, and the company ships to multiple countries worldwide.

If you’re planning a shopping trip to Madrid, Freshly also has a physical store that is easy to visit. The brand has boutiques in several major Spanish cities, including Barcelona, Bilbao, Zaragoza, and Reus.

Some of my personal Freshly favorites include their beautifully scented Golden Radiance body oil, Azelaic acid serum, under-eye serum, and hair serum. Online, you can find their products on both their official website and Amazon.es.

Favorite French Natural and Organic Skincare Brands

As someone who visits France regularly, I’ve discovered many wonderful French beauty brands almost by accident. Some were found while traveling through different regions of the country, while others unexpectedly appeared during my online shopping searches.

One of the advantages of living in Spain is that many French natural beauty brands are also readily available here, either through specialized organic shops, the brands’ own websites, or even online retailers, like Amazon.

Florame

I first discovered Florame while traveling along the French Riviera, and it quickly became one of my favorite French natural beauty brands.

The company specializes in organic skincare and aromatherapy, but I particularly love their natural perfumes. Their almond collection is another standout, especially the hand cream and lip gloss, both featuring a delicious Mediterranean-inspired scent that instantly transports me back to southern France. Their BB cream has also become one of my favorite lightweight complexion products.

Florame also has a beautiful boutique in the south of France, making it an easy stop to include on any French Riviera itinerary. You can also shop for their products in Spain through Naturitas.

Florence Nature

Florence Nature is another French brand I discovered almost by accident while browsing online. Some of my favorite products include their orange perfume, cleansing milk, and several creams and serums enriched with royal jelly. Their formulations feel comforting and nourishing, making them especially appealing during colder months or whenever my skin needs extra care.

Florence Nature is available in Spain via Amazon.es and Naturitas, and the brand also has a physical store in Hospitalet de Llobregat, making it an easy stop to include on a Barcelona itinerary or road trip.

Avril

Avril is one of the most affordable natural skincare and beauty brands available in Europe, proving that clean beauty doesn’t always have to come with a luxury price tag. Although it’s a French brand, it also has a lovely store in Madrid that’s well worth visiting if you’re planning a shopping trip to the Spanish capital. You can also shop this brand online in Spain through Naturitas.

Lately, I’ve been using their cleansing oil quite regularly. Although its shea butter-based formula can feel slightly rich for my combination skin, it’s exceptional at removing full-coverage makeup, especially after filming days when I’ve worn heavier products. I also love Avril’s clay masks, which come in quite travel-friendly sizes that fit perfectly into my suitcase.

More recently, I’ve been enjoying their nail polishes as well. Their formulas feel gentler compared to many conventional alternatives currently on the market. The only natural nail brand I might prefer is Kia Charlotta, although unfortunately it’s much harder to find in Spain.

Melvita

I discovered Melvita during a Mediterranean cruise stop in Corsica, and it has remained one of my favorite French organic skincare brands ever since.

I absolutely adore their floral waters, which I use as toners throughout the year. Another product I’ve repurchased multiple times is the Nectar Pur exfoliating mask. It’s particularly useful while traveling, as it provides an extra deep cleanse after long days spent sightseeing, flying, or simply being constantly on the go.

Melvita is widely available in French pharmacies, through Amazon Spain, and in many natural beauty shops across Europe. I last restocked some of my favorite products during a cruise stop in Cannes, and the brand also has a boutique in Aubenas in the south of France, which can easily be included in a French Riviera itinerary.

One of the things I love most about traveling is discovering local products that eventually become part of everyday life back home. Sometimes, though, it’s the natural scents that I treasure the most, because they instantly transport me back to those journeys. These French and Spanish skincare brands remind me of specific places, from sunny afternoons on the French Riviera and orange groves in Valencia to leisurely shopping days in Madrid.
