When it comes to having a relaxing vacation, many people consider Thailand as their destination of choice. Krabi is one of Thailand’s most popular provinces that offers so much more than just a blissful relaxation! Besides having perfect white sand beaches, it also has outdoor adventures, cultural sightings, and spicy cuisine. If you plan to visit Krabi, then here’s your absolute must experiences – top things to do in Krabi.
7 Incredible Experiences in Krabi, Thailand

1. Explore the beaches
Can you ever get tired of the picture-perfect white-sand beaches? I don’t know about you, but it’s never enough for me. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, I stumble upon another beach that absolutely takes my breath away. Krabi is full of moments like this. So, having some laid-back beach time is one of the top things to do in Krabi. We just owe it to ourselves, don’t we!

Check out Ao Nang Beach, Railay Beach, Phra Nang Beach, and Noppharat Thara Beach. It can get more crowded during the day, so for a more secluded experience, head there early in the morning (you can also catch the magnificent sunrise there). By the way, sunsets in Thailand are also one of the most beautiful around the world.

2. Go island hopping

Usually, the tour consists of 4 small charming islands, where you can enjoy the sun and shimmering blue water. I really enjoyed Railay Beach and Phra Nang Cave Beach. But also where else have you seen an island that looks like a chicken?
3. Eat at the street food market
The trip to Thailand wouldn’t be complete without trying the local cuisine. Some of the best dishes that I tried were at Krabi Street Food Market. My two personal favorites were: Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai.

However, be careful, it can get hot! A few times when I was asked whether I wanted my dish to be spicy, I said ‘Yes’ and immediately regretted it every single time. European spicy and Thai spicy have two different meanings, so watch out.

4. Have a relaxing massage
Another one of the top things to do in Krabi you can’t miss is massage. There are massage salons almost every step of the way, so you won’t need to search for them. I’ve tried all kinds of massages there: feet, back, Thai, and the general relaxing massage. The latter one was my favorite, it really helped to have an even better sleep after some of the outdoor activities that I had.

5. Do some shopping
Let’s be honest, sometimes you need a break from laying on the beach all day. It’s always a good idea to go shopping. Even though Krabi has higher prices than Pattaya, it is quite an interesting experience. The streets are lined with stalls that have everything you need. Be ready to bargain a lot!
6. Go kayaking through the mangrove forest
Ao Thalane is considered one of the most beautiful mangrove forests in Thailand. Definitely one of my personal top things to do in Krabi. It’s truly magnificent to paddle your way through the hidden passageways while admiring the unique flora and fauna of this place. It’s an unforgettable experience!
7. Visit Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Sua)
There are various legends about this place, but as you can guess, all of them are connected to the tiger, who either lived in one of the caves or was roaming around it. But the most incredible experience at this temple comes after you climb the mountain top.
Be careful: the steps are narrow and steep in the beginning and at the same time there are monkeys ready to steal everything you have.

They also don’t like it when people try to take photos of them. Believe me, you don’t want to see them jumping on you and stealing your phone. Once you overcome these obstacles and climb 1237 steps to the mountain top in the hot weather, you reach the place of complete peace and tranquility. A large golden Buddha statue together with breathtaking views will make you understand why this journey was worth it.

I’ve learned a few things about Thailand just by reading your post! For example, I didn’t know there were amazing beaches there. For some reason, I thought Thailand was landlocked. Now I really want to go there!
