Home vs. Yoga Studio

Only yoga brings me peace and inner strength. After 30 min of practice, I always see things clearly. I went to different yoga studios with different yoga teachers and came to one conclusion: what I like the most is doing Yoga alone. How not to enjoy your own rhythm during the practice? It feels amazing doing it all alone at home or somewhere quiet outside. Thanks to  Youtube, nowadays you can get yoga guidance from the best professionals at no cost and straight from home.

Therefore, I love experimenting with Yoga video courses: you have relaxing music and guidance all in one. Some people claim it can’t substitute a physical presence in a class. Maybe, or maybe not. It depends on your goals and preferences. From my experience, when you start yoga classes you won´t do it all the right way from the very beginning. A teacher by your side might be helpful, but he/she can´t do the exercises for you anyway. In other words, if your body is not strong and flexible enough, even knowing the right way to do an “asana” – doesn’t necessarily mean you will be able to do it. In my opinion, the main thing about yoga is quieting your mind, connecting with your inner self and letting it go. Although, with regular practice, results won´t make you wait.

Music for yoga:

  • Mantras.  All of them have a meaning, like for ex. reverse negative to positive etc., but I believe, the most important thing here – is to enjoy the melody and the voices. Also, when I understand the words, it usually distracts me. Therefore, listening mantras helps me to relax and quiet my mind.

Moreover, I also love listening to guided meditations by Louise L. HayIt seems like she´s not telling anything new: “love yourself, approve of yourself, be grateful, etc.”, but somehow saying all these things out loud always has a very positive impact on my body and mood. There is a huge wave of peaceful and positive energy coming from this woman. So, I´d also recommend it for some good vibes.
