Even though we all have our favorite beauty products, adding to your beauty routine something organic, green and natural is always a good idea.
100 Organic Skin Care Recipes
For years, a book “100 Organic Skin Care Recipes” by Jessica Ress has been a source of natural glow for my skin. It offers a lot of ideas on how to nourish your skin from home with simple and easy to get ingredients.
Of course, with a modern lifestyle we all lack time to prepare our own creams, scrabs and masks. And I recognize, I don´t do it every day, neither should I. But once a week or two, I try to indulge myself and it always has the most wonderful effects on my skin.
My Favorite Organic Skin Care Recipes
- Aztec honey and wine mask: 1 teaspoon raw honey, ½ teaspoon chia seeds,1 ½ red whine (says the recipe, but I use less like ½ teaspoon, depending on the consistancy of the honey)
- Go Green Moisture Mask: ½ small avocado, ¼ teaspoon lemon juice,1 teaspoon spirulina, ½ teaspoon olive oil
- Green Clay Rose Milk Mask: ½ cup green clay, ¼ cup kaolin clay, ¼ cup powdered milk (full-fat dairy, soy, or coconut), rosewater (again, this is the récipe, but I use less of everything for a one-time use so I would not need to store it)
What I also do is a clay mask with essential oils. You can find the properties of every essential oil all over the internet. Just be careful, essential oils are very strong, don´t use more than 2-3 drops per mask, cause you may be allergic to a particular type. I always tried it (the mask mix, not an oil itself) on a small area of my skin first, starting with 1 drop per mask mix. But luckily I never had any problems. So I still go on trying different essential oils and mixing them with clay.
